Fair Housing
We are an Equal Housing Opportunity provider.
Oakland Property Management follows federal, California, and local fair housing laws. We do not discriminate in renting, advertising, screening, or any other part of our housing services.
Protected Classes
Federal law (the Fair Housing Act) prohibits housing discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), familial status, and disability.
California law adds further protections, including for gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, ancestry, source of income, veteran or military status, genetic information, age, citizenship, primary language, and immigration status, among others.
Section 8 and Source of Income
We accept Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) and other forms of rental assistance, and we consider all lawful, verifiable sources of income. California law prohibits discrimination based on source of income.
Criminal History
For our Oakland properties, we follow Oakland’s Fair Chance Housing Ordinance, which generally prohibits asking about or using criminal history in rental decisions.
Reasonable Accommodations and Modifications
If you or someone in your household has a disability, you may request a reasonable accommodation (a change in a rule, policy, practice, or service) or a reasonable modification (a physical change to your unit or common areas). Contact us at info@irentoakland.com or (510) 903-5030. Assistance animals are not pets and are welcome as a reasonable accommodation.
Language Access
If you need help in a language other than English, let us know. Some of our pages are available in Spanish.
